Set hotkeys to trigger macros and type text.
SimpleKeys for Mac produces keyboard shortcuts with completely customizable actions. This premium software lets you assign actions like launching sites, running apps and scripts, entering text, and even allows you to string several actions together. It performs well and can be sized down to a single menu bar icon.
SimpleKeys for Mac features a minimal main screen consisting of two columns: one for the shortcuts, and another for the associated actions. A nice touch is the drag-and-drop support for the shortcuts, allowing a quick and convenient way to back up or share them. Creating a new shortcut is a straightforward process that involves four easy steps: naming the shortcut, assigning keys, deciding whether it should appear in the menu bar, and choosing which applications it should be active in. Note that assigning taken shortcuts will not overwrite the original action. After the shortcut has been created, you can easily add multiple actions to it, like typing text, launching apps, scripts, and Web sites, opening folders, and more. The app even allows you to repeat previous shortcut actions -- a handy feature. Other options include launching the app on startup, hiding the editor when not in focus, and switching the menu bar icon on.
