I updated my OS 8.0 with no problems, BUT, before I installed it, I got major errors. I ended up re-installing my OS 8, then installing the update. After doing that, I didnt get any errors. My system was the Performa 5215CD. But, my Apple TV/Video system didnt work well, after you captured, the video would get off of the audio. Also, AppleShare, was VERY SLOW. I recommend updating to OS 8.1, then update EVERY AppleShare, and software you have.
